What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Cookies

If you leave a comment on this site, you can opt-in to have your name, email address and website saved in cookies. This is for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you want to leave another comment. These cookies will last for 1 year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you have visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service that collects and transmits data to Google’s servers in the United States (US). Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Dimitar Nikolov uses reports from Google Analytics to better understand his website usage.

You can read Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. If you want to prevent Google Analytics from collecting and processing your data, please install this browser add-on, available for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 11, Apple Safari, and Opera.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you—including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service called Akismet. Akismet is owned and operated by Automattic, whose privacy policy you can read at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If a data breach takes place, registered users will be notified on email as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours after discovery.
